A three-hour hike leads from our neighboring village of Dalaas via Mason, Mustrinalpe and Alpe Rauher Staffel directly to the lake. The menu at the Freiburger H\u00fctte features typical Austrian home cooking, such as bacon dumpling soup, K\u00e4ssp\u00e4tzle or Brettljausn. The two pay attention to sustainability and regional products. From there it is not far to the Steinernes Meer, a high alpine karst plateau that is over 200 million years old and provides evidence of the area’s maritime past.<\/p>\n
Those who are not so good on foot or simply prefer to take it easy can take the hiking bus directly to the lake (via Lech).<\/p>\n
