Most beautiful place in Austria: the Formarinsee

Visit the most beautiful place in Austria: the Formarinsee.

A three-hour hike leads from our neighboring town of Dalaas via Mason, Mustrinalpe and Alpe Rauher Staffel directly to the lake. The menu at the Freiburger Hütte features typical Austrian home-style cooking, such as bacon dumpling soup, Kässpätzle or Brettljausn. Both pay attention to sustainability and regional products. From there it is not far to the Steinerne Meer, a high alpine karst plateau that is over 200 million years old and provides evidence of the maritime past of this area.

Those who are not that good on foot or who simply prefer to take it easy can take the hiking bus directly to the lake (via Lech).
